I like to have an image of my main characters clear in my head before starting a book, and I find the best way is to get a few muses. It was easy for the main character in 'In X Change'. Max started it all off with his appearance on the cover which inspired the book, so he's exactly as seen (or unseen in his case). Aksel plays the second lead, and he was easy as well. I wanted a sexy ginger for this big brute, and gingers don't come any sexier than Caylan Hughes in my book. And it is my book, so that was that. Caylan was just a starting point, though, as Aksel really is a brute, so I had to roughen him up and then some. Fergal is a cute 'guy next door' type with a bit of body hair going on, and Paul Wagner was a dead ringer for that part. Olly is your knock dead gorgeous type (yes I know, I always have one, and I haven't had anybody complain so far). I don't know who this guy is, but he fits the bill for me, with a killer body as well as a killer face. I used him on the cover of 'The Alpha Sparky' and would very much like to have his telephone number, if anybody happens to have it... Anyway, these are my muses for the four stars of 'In X Change'.

I've still got a bit of tidying up to do, mainly with the ending, which is usually the case with me. But rather than rush the book out, which is too often a temptation I fall into, I've made the book available for order on pre-release, with the book coming out on February 12th, 2016. Click on the book cover image to see where it is currently listed. So be nice to Jack and order yourself a copy, and you'll have my heartfelt thanks... In X Change. Now you can't say fairer that that. Jack Okay, with the festive season now well and truly over, and my partner and I now installed back in Brighton, I'm now settling down to work again with my Jack Brighton hat firmly back on. The book I'm working on is called 'In X Change'. It's an odd one, in that I actually came up with the book cover first and then based the story around it. My original idea was to do a prequel to 'Mastered' which found the two protagonists at the end of a journey. I thought it would be interesting to go to the start and explore the motivation. But I quickly moved away from that. The premise was one that I stayed with, though... an IT salesman in London's financial sector who goes to meet with a banker and decides to blindfold himself before the banker arrives. Why? He has come to trade. Trade his 'non-selling time for 'selling' time so he can put the deal of his life back on track, and this is the first thing he must do to buy it. Time for time. That's the deal. And what unfolds is what he does... In X Change. Jack |
